Sumitomo & Demag Merge

Wednesday, 2 April 2008

We are pleased to share with you that the execution of the merger between Demag and Sumitomo
became legally effective on March 3, 2008.

Demag’s proprietary position is clear. With this merger, we are now the first truly globally operating
injection molding company, with the most modern machine technology, most expansive industry experience, as well as consistent service offerings, and can, therefore, uncompromisingly, support and sustain customers all over the world.
The integration of Demag and Sumitomo has only one premise; the satisfaction of our customers. The harmonization of our product lines is of the utmost importance to us. To this end, we will utilize the
strengths of both of our enterprises. There will be no interruptions with our existing product lines that
would cause our customers problems with regards to controls or the connection of auxiliary equipment.
Demag’s trade name and your contacts within the company will remain unchanged.
We look forward to continuing our mutually beneficial relationship and to demonstrating our efficiency
and reliability.
