The DPG Packaging Roadshow 2007 visited the UK last week; over 65 people visited the DPG UK Headquarters in Aylesbury. The show was designed to demonstrate the high speed manufacturing competency of Demag and its partners. "In an increasingly polarised manufacturing environment, packaging is a key growth market for Demag" said Nigel Flowers, Managing Director at Demag Hamilton.
On show was an ET150 El -Exis machine, running a 4 impression KEBO cup mould with high speed automation supplied by Waldorf Technik. The machine running at a 1.8 second cycle time was the highlight of the event. Demag Hamilton was also exhibiting an ET100 El -Exis, running a 24 impression cap mould at 3.1 seconds.
The event has proved to be very successful, not only attracting representatives from the major UK packaging companies, but also visitors from Europe. During the event, 6 papers were presented covering all aspects of high speed manufacturing including machine technology and selection, high speed automation, mould technology and down stream equipment. The El -Exis is proving to be highly successful in the packaging segment, not only with its high speed, but with the added attraction of low energy and noise.
