Demag Hamilton Ltd, supplier of Demag and Sumitomo injection moulding machines, is changing its UK market strategy while simultaneously moving its headquarters to a prestigious new location in Aylesbury.

Sumitomo (SHI) Demag to include Sepro SDR Robot in its line of automation systems.

The manufacturer of injection molding machines, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH of Schwaig, Germany, and the manufacturer of robots, Sepro Robotique of La Roche-sur-Yon, France, have concluded a contract for cooperation in June, 2009. This agreement makes arrangements for Sumitomo (SHI) Demag to expand its line of three-axis robots by a robot series supplied by Sepro.

Sumitomo-Demag Invests In The Future

Sumitomo to rearrange production: Wiehe to become a center of excellence for all-electric injection moulding machines The Wiehe, Germany, based production facility of Sumi-tomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery GmbH will be turned into a major manufacturing base for all-electric injection moulding machines within Sumitomo Heavy In-dustries. Besides the new all-electric IntElect for the European market, the Japanese-German IMM-manufacturer, with European headquarters in Schwaig near Nuremberg, will produce the Japanese SE- machine range as well.

Demag Hamilton starts year strongly

Demag Hamilton has bucked the trend and started 2009 with a real bang. The first 6 weeks of this year has produced an order book of almost €1.4million, with a total of 9 machines sold. A significant part of this success was provided by sales of 7 Sumitomo full electric machines into the UK and Eire, the first Japanese machines sold by Demag Hamilton since the acquisition of Demag Plastics Group by Sumitomo Heavy Industries in 2008.

Demag Appoints New After Sales Manager

Demag Hamilton has appointed Ian Ramsay in the new position of After Sales Manager; he is responsible for all aspects of after sales, including both parts and service. Ian has been with Demag for 20 years and brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.

Demag Presents NEW NC5 IntElect

IntElect 100ton This all electric machine from Demag will be shown with the companies latest NC5 control system. The NC5 is a high performance machine control, which delivers both flexibility and control together with complete process transparency. The innovative direct drive concept offers extremely precise process consistency and repeatability while also offering even greater energy saving over belt driven machines. The machine on show will be a 100ton IntElect running an 8 cavity deodorant cap at a cycle time of 3.2 seconds

50 Years of Demag Toggle Systems

Toggles are the most commonly built and used clamping system in Europe. Almost two thirds of all injection moulding machines of over 100 tonnes clamp-force used in Europe employ toggles as the clamping system. That the design is not static, but is constantly being developed and optimised, makes it the most reliable and dependable type of clamping system, with distinct technical and economic advantages.

More Precision for Water Meters

Elster Metering Holdings Ltd. with headquarters in Luton/UK, is a manufacturer of water meters for different areas of application. Using an all-electric IntElect injection moulding machine from Demag Plastics Group, the producer will introduce more precision to its production of plastic metering chambers with narrow tolerance levels. Injection molded components for water meters have been in use for forty years.

DPG New Management Team

Sumitomo & Demag Partnership

The agreement signed at the beginning of February for the sale of Demag Plastics Group to the Japanese Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. will enter into force on March 3, 2008. After the German Cartel Office granted its approval of the sale of the injection moulding machine builder Demag as early as January 28, 2008, today’s pay-ment of the purchase price of 77.558.000€ fulfils the last condition of the agreement.

The Dirty 30 Charity Challenge 2007

Well we did it - but it was the hardest walk I have every done. If you recall, we planned to walk 30 miles in 15 hours at night over the Scottish mountains, with the objective of razing £4000 for charity.

Packaging Forum - Report

The DPG Packaging Roadshow 2007 visited the UK last week; over 65 people visited the DPG UK Headquarters in Aylesbury. The show was designed to demonstrate the high speed manufacturing competency of Demag and its partners. "In an increasingly polarised manufacturing environment, packaging is a key growth market for Demag" said Nigel Flowers, Managing Director at Demag Hamilton.

EL-EXIS Takes performance to a new level ...

An ET 150 on show at the Demag Hamilton Packaging Forum 2007 on the 18th & 19th April, at our Aylesbury HQ will be running at 1.8 second cycle. The machine will be running a 4 cavity cap mould, with a Waldorf Technik take out system.

2006 The Most Successful Year for IntElect

The overall sales of the IntElect increases yet again, with 170 machines sold in 2006. Sales were especially strong in the last Quarter, with the machine taking a huge 17.6% market share (Euromap Figures).

As announced at K’2005, the European IntElect series will be extended to clamping forces of up to 350 tonnes within the current fiscal year.
